For this sector of application, CALCINOR supplies lime products of high purity, whiteness and fineness, offering its clients the best performance and most outstanding qualities for their finished products. The lime products manufactured by CALCINOR are used in the following applications:
- In the production of paper pulp; during the causticizing process the sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) is treated with quicklime to regenerate and recover the caustic soda.
- In the sulphate process (SO4), quicklime is used to produce a calcium bisulphate liquor that allows the non-cellulose elements of wood to be dissolved.
- Limes (quicklime and slaked lime) act as a bleaching agent for paper pulp. They are employed as flocculants, neutralisers and clarifying agents in the treatment of waste water generated by the paper manufacturing process.
- Calcium carbonate, CaCO3, either natural pulverised or precipitated (PCC), is used as a mineral filler and is increasingly more highly rated in printing or writing paper.
