WATER TREATMENT

A wide range of additives are used in water-treatment, including lime and its derivatives due to its alkalising functions and contribution of calcium ions.

Water treatments, water is a resource widely used in industrial processes, as well as being an indispensable element for humans.

So, to allow industrial development and at the same time preserve water it is necessary to perform water decontamination treatments.

The type of treatment applied to the water is different depending on its origin. Existing water treatment systems can be divided generically in WWTS (waste water purification station), EDARI (industrial water) and DWTP (drinking water treatment station).

Lime and its derivatives act as clarifiers, coagulants, neutralising and precipitating dissolved contaminants. In desalination calcium based products are used as remineralization agents.
