History
Cales de Llierca was founded in 1969 in Argelaguer (Catalonia) as a lime production plant initially focused on supplying the nearby steel industry. Through a process of steady growth and the development of new products such as Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC), the company quickly became a reference within its markets. In 2010, it became part of Calcinor and, in 2016, joined Eurofillers (now Calmit Holding GmbH as one of the companies operating under the Eurominerals brand. In 2026, the company adopted the name Calmit Llierca, reinforcing its integration within the European alliance developed by Calcinor and Schmid Industrie Holding under the Calmit brand, while maintaining its expertise, specialization and industrial commitment.
Products
It has an integrated process that includes the selection and extraction of the raw material (limestone), the calcination kilns (to obtain calcium oxide), the lime processing facilities (calcium hydroxide) and the manufacture of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate.
Applications
The products supplied by CALMIT LLIERCA S.A. serve both the usual lime sectors such as the iron and steel industry, construction, the environment and agriculture, as well as specialised sectors that consume mineral fillers (plastics, paints, adhesives, pharmaceuticals, paper, chemicals, ...).
