Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, this has been a year of growth and consolidation for the Nariokotomé (Kenya) hand-crafted lime factory.

REFRACTARIOS KELSEN S.A, European leader in the production of dolomite refractory bricks and masses, opens a new plant for manufacturing fired dolomite bricks.

Since 2015 Calcinor has been collaborating on a humanitarian project in Kenya. The objective is to sustainably produce hand-crafted materials based on the use of lime and gypsum made by the local population.

CALCINOR`s participation in a humanitarian project that produces lime at small-scale in Turkana (Kenya). After its first year of operation it is currently producing quality lime and plaster as needed.

Award in the “Consolidated Company” category - a reward for a company that was founded back in 1969 at a mine located in the town of Morón de la Frontera, Seville, that made quicklime.

Now that New Year has come and gone we at CALCINOR have the time and energy to prepare for any new challenges that will come our way, as well as those that were already scheduled for 2019. But we will also have to find time to celebrate the fact that one of our constituent companies, CALES DE LLIERCA S.A., has been extracting natural calcium products for the last 50 years.

“Chokáa” (“lime” in Swahili) project came about in 2013, led by the engineer Pablo Moñino whose objective was to produce lime on a small scale so it could be used to create an alternative binding material for construction and for dams that need repairing.

The need to renovate and restore ancient monuments has brought a proliferation in the use of lime and mixed mortars.
