History

The company was founded in 1984 in Madrid (Arganda del Rey) as a centre for the production and sale of lime and its derivatives. In 1988 it changed its name to Cal de Castilla S.A. after becoming part of Calcinor. In the following years, a process of acquiring its own quarry, installing new kilns (1994 and 2002), a new hydrator (1995), micronisation and concrete plants, made it a pioneering company in the implementation of operational improvements in the Calcinor business group. At present, it continues to implement improvements related to the sustainability of its processes.

Products

Cal de Castilla S.A. (CALCASA) has its own limestone deposit which allows it to produce a wide variety of calcium products, from limestone itself, from which it supplies, after processing, limestone aggregate, calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide. It also produces concrete in its area of influence from its plants in Arganda del Rey and Vicálvaro.

Applications

Thanks to CALCASA's wide range of calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide-based products, it supplies these products to different sectors of activity such as the iron and steel industry, environment, agriculture, soil stabilisation, gypsum and mortar. Similarly, its limestone aggregate reaches customers producing asphalt, precast, mortar, concrete and micronised products.

CALCASA maintains its commitment to the environment and sustainability by applying the Transfer Mining technique to convert its mining fronts into perfectly restored surfaces integrated into the landscape.
