Tackling COVID-19

Our industrial activity is closely linked to that of the public and in 2020 their well-being is, unfortunately, being tested by the worldwide pandemic caused by the coronavirus.

Following the instructions of the relevant authorities, CALCINOR has adapted the activities of its employees and production accordingly, it is therefore able to tackle this very serious situation in the most suitable conditions, something that will guarantee the continued supply of quality calcium products.

To achieve this all the different companies that make up the CALCINOR group are implementing different preventive measures, down to the smallest detail, so as to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus at their installations, producing specific guidelines and protocols for every working situation and modifying them as and when the results of the latest studies are published.

Other daily measures that are also applicable, such as social distancing during factory operations and reinforcing the cleaning and disinfection policies in common places have been complemented with modifications to shift-working and the introduction of homeworking for those that can do so.

With the current uncertain situation, CALCINOR continues with its commitment to adjusting its work practices and to stay aware the needs of its customers, regarding product supply, by aiming to create a safe work environment, for workers, suppliers, and customers.

CALCINOR responds to the demand for their calcium products as part of the critical supply chain during this crisis.

With the aim of guaranteeing the basic needs of the population in current health, social and economic crisis, certain industrial activities have been classified as essential and cannot stop production. Among these important sectors are water supply and steel production; CALCINOR is a key supplier to both.

This is the reason why our activity, the production of lime and its derivatives, has not stopped, because it forms part of the critical supply chain in these times of crisis.

Our calcium products allow the supply of clean drinking water to the general-public to be guaranteed and at the same time allow the treatment of waste-water and gases. In the same way our industrial minerals are an essential part of the steel industry, which is linked directly to the production of medical devices as well as electricity.

For all these reasons CALCINOR and its workers continue to carry out their essential productive work, taking the appropriate safety measures so as to be able to provide added value to the aforementioned critical supply chain and so finally leave the crisis behind by employing joint responsibility and commitment.
